01

Citations in AI answers

Your pages appear more often as cited sources when assistants answer questions in your category, measured across a fixed set of test prompts.

02

Accurate brand descriptions

Assistants describe what you do, where you operate, and who you serve correctly, because consistent facts exist on your site and on third-party sources.

03

Measured AI referral traffic

Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot are segmented in GA4, so you can see volume, landing pages, and conversions.

What AI Search Optimization (GEO) involves

People now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews for recommendations, and get a written answer with a handful of cited sources instead of ten blue links. Being one of those sources depends on two things. The assistant has to be able to retrieve your content when it searches the web, and it has to recognize your brand as a credible entity connected to the topic. This discipline is often called generative engine optimization, or GEO.

There is a lot of speculation in this field, so we stick to what can be observed. AI assistants with web access lean on search indexes, so strong conventional SEO remains the base. On top of that, we check that AI crawlers can reach your pages, make content easy to extract and quote, build consistent entity information across the web, and earn mentions on the sources these systems cite. We track results with repeatable prompt testing and referral data.

What is included

Deliverables you can point to

AI visibility baseline

A prompt set covering your category, tested across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI Overviews, recording whether you are mentioned, cited, and described accurately.

AI crawler access review

Robots.txt, CDN, and firewall rules checked for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, and Bingbot, with a policy on what to allow or block.

Rendering and extractability check

We confirm key content is present in server-delivered HTML, since many AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript, and fix pages that load empty.

Answer-ready content restructuring

Priority pages rewritten with direct answers near the top, question-based headings, self-contained passages, definitions, comparison tables, and clearly attributed facts.

Entity optimization

Organization and Person schema with sameAs links, a consistent brand description, and aligned profiles on Wikidata, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, and industry directories where eligible.

Third-party mention building

Outreach to earn inclusion in the comparison articles, review platforms, community threads, and publications that assistants repeatedly cite for your category.

llms.txt file

A curated llms.txt pointing to your most important pages in clean form. It is an emerging convention with no confirmed ranking effect, so we treat it as low-cost groundwork.

AI referral tracking

GA4 channel grouping and reports for AI assistant referrers, plus scheduled prompt re-testing to show changes in mentions and citations over time.

Process

How the work runs

Baseline testing

We build a prompt set from your keyword data and customer questions, run it across the major assistants, and record who gets cited and recommended today.

Source analysis

We study the pages and domains assistants cite for your prompts to learn what formats, sites, and content qualities they favor, and where you are absent.

Technical access fixes

We resolve crawler blocking, rendering problems, and indexing gaps in Google and Bing, since assistants with web search retrieve largely from those indexes.

Content and entity work

We restructure priority pages for clear extraction, publish content answering the questions in the prompt set, and align entity data across your site and profiles.

Mentions and re-testing

We pursue placements on frequently cited sources, then re-run the prompt set on a schedule and report movement alongside AI referral traffic.

Questions

AI Search Optimization (GEO) FAQ

Is GEO different from SEO?

It overlaps heavily. Assistants that browse the web pull from search indexes, so pages that rank and are technically accessible have a head start. The differences are in emphasis: content must be easy to quote in isolation, your brand needs consistent entity information, and mentions on third-party sources matter even without links. We treat it as an extension of SEO, not a replacement.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?

No. AI answers vary between sessions, users, and model versions, and nobody outside these companies controls what they generate. Anyone promising guaranteed placement is overselling. What we can do is improve the factors that influence retrieval and citation, test a consistent prompt set over time, and show you whether your visibility is trending up or down.

Does llms.txt actually work?

It is a proposed standard, and at the time of writing the major AI providers have not confirmed that they use it for retrieval or ranking. We include it because it is quick to create and harmless, not because it is a proven lever. Crawler access, server-rendered content, strong organic rankings, and third-party mentions have far more observable influence.

Should we block AI crawlers?

It depends on your goals. Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot or Google-Extended limits use of your content for model training. Blocking search-oriented crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot can remove you from cited answers. Google AI Overviews rely on normal Googlebot crawling. We help you set a policy that separates these cases rather than blocking everything or nothing.

How much does AI search optimization cost?

Pricing starts at $2,900 /month. Pricing is scoped per project through a custom proposal. The scope depends on how many topics and prompts we track, how much content needs restructuring, the state of your technical SEO, and whether mention building is included. Many clients add this to an existing SEO engagement, since the two share most of the groundwork.
