01

Clarity on what matters

You learn which few issues are suppressing traffic and which warnings are noise, so budget and developer time go where they count.

02

An actionable roadmap

Every recommendation states what to change, on which URLs, and why, ordered into quick wins, core fixes, and longer-term projects.

03

A baseline to measure against

Current rankings, indexed pages, organic traffic, and conversions are documented, so later improvements can be measured against a fixed starting point.

What SEO Audits involves

Most automated SEO reports list hundreds of warnings and give every one of them the same weight. A missing alt attribute sits next to a canonical tag that is removing your best page from the index. An audit is only useful if it tells you which problems cost you traffic, which can wait, and which can be ignored. That judgment is what you are paying for, and it comes from a person reading the data, not from a score.

Our audits cover four areas: technical health, on-page and content quality, backlink profile, and competitive position. We use crawlers and third-party data, but every finding is checked manually against your Search Console and analytics data. You receive a written report, a spreadsheet of issues with affected URLs, and a roadmap ranked by impact and effort. We then walk your team through it on a call. You can implement it yourselves, or ask Growth Asteroid to do it.

What is included

Deliverables you can point to

Technical health review

Crawlability, indexation, site architecture, redirects, canonicals, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, HTTPS, mobile rendering, and Core Web Vitals assessed with examples of affected URLs.

Content quality assessment

Pages grouped into keep, improve, merge, or remove, based on traffic, rankings, links, thin or duplicate content, and how well each matches search intent.

Keyword cannibalization check

Queries where several of your URLs compete are identified from Search Console data, with a recommendation on which page should own each term.

Backlink profile analysis

Referring domains reviewed for quality, relevance, and anchor text patterns, with lost links worth reclaiming and any manipulative patterns flagged.

Competitor gap analysis

A comparison with three to five search competitors covering keywords they rank for that you do not, content formats, and link sources.

Structured data review

Existing schema markup tested for errors and eligibility, plus a list of markup types you are missing for your page templates.

Tracking and analytics check

GA4 and Search Console configuration reviewed for missing conversions, self-referrals, unfiltered internal traffic, and property or domain coverage gaps.

Prioritized roadmap and walkthrough

A ranked action list with impact, effort, and owner for each item, presented on a call with time for your team's questions.

Process

How the work runs

Scoping and access

We agree what the audit needs to answer, such as a traffic drop or pre-migration check, and collect read access to Search Console, analytics, and your CMS.

Data collection

We run a full crawl, export Search Console performance and indexing data, pull backlink data from third-party indexes, and gather competitor benchmarks for your main queries.

Manual analysis

An SEO specialist reviews templates, key pages, and patterns by hand, validating tool findings against live behavior and discarding false positives before anything reaches the report.

Report and roadmap

Findings are written up in plain language with screenshots and URL examples, then sorted into a roadmap by expected impact and implementation effort.

Walkthrough and handover

We present the audit to stakeholders and developers, answer questions, and stay available for clarifications while your team, or ours, implements the fixes.

Questions

SEO Audits FAQ

How is this different from a free SEO audit tool?

Free tools run a crawl and list generic warnings without knowing your business, your traffic data, or which pages earn money. They cannot see Search Console, judge content quality, or tell you that a finding is a false positive. Our audit uses tools for data collection, but the analysis, prioritization, and recommendations are done by a specialist looking at your actual situation.

How long does an audit take?

It depends on site size and scope. A small business site takes less time than a large store or a multi-language site with log file analysis. We confirm a delivery date in the proposal once we have seen the site. We would rather take the time to verify findings manually than send a fast report full of unfiltered tool output.

How much does an SEO audit cost?

Pricing starts at $1,500 one-time. Pricing is scoped per project through a custom proposal. The number of pages and templates, the platforms involved, and optional components such as log file analysis, international targeting, or a traffic-drop investigation all affect the scope. Tell us what prompted the audit and we will propose the depth that answers your question without padding.

Do you implement the fixes too?

We can. The audit is designed to stand alone, so your own developers and writers can work from it. Many clients ask us to handle implementation afterward, either as a fixed project covering the priority items or as ongoing managed SEO. There is no obligation, and the documentation is yours either way.

Can an audit explain a sudden traffic drop?

Usually, yes. We line up the timing against known Google updates, site releases, tracking changes, and Search Console data to separate a genuine ranking loss from a measurement problem. Then we look at which page types and queries lost visibility. Sometimes the cause is a single technical change. Sometimes it is a broader content quality issue. We tell you which, with evidence.
