01

Important pages get indexed

Pages blocked by directives, orphaned from internal links, or lost in duplicate clusters are surfaced and fixed so they can be crawled and indexed.

02

Faster, more stable pages

Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift are improved at template level using field data, not only lab scores.

03

Crawl budget spent well

Parameter URLs, redirect chains, and soft 404s are reduced, so crawlers spend their requests on pages you actually want in search results.

What Technical SEO involves

Before a page can rank, a search engine has to discover it, crawl it, render it, and decide it deserves a place in the index. Each step can fail quietly. A stray noindex tag, a redirect chain, content that only appears after JavaScript runs, or a sitemap full of dead URLs will not show up as an error on your homepage. They show up as pages that never gain traction, no matter how good the content is.

Our technical SEO work looks at the site the way a crawler does. We combine a full crawl with Search Console data and, where available, server log files to see what Googlebot requests and what it ignores. Findings become developer-ready tickets with the affected URLs, the expected behavior, and acceptance criteria. After release, we re-crawl to confirm each fix. We cover Core Web Vitals, structured data, international targeting, and site migrations as part of the same discipline.

What is included

Deliverables you can point to

Full site crawl

A crawl with JavaScript rendering enabled, covering status codes, directives, canonicals, hreflang, depth, internal links, and duplicate content, compared against your XML sitemaps.

Index coverage analysis

Review of Search Console page indexing reports to explain why URLs are excluded, such as crawled but not indexed, duplicate without canonical, or soft 404.

Log file analysis

Where server logs are available, we analyze bot requests to show crawl frequency by section, wasted crawl on low-value URLs, and pages Googlebot never visits.

Core Web Vitals fixes

Specific recommendations for LCP, INP, and CLS, such as image priority and sizing, render-blocking resources, third-party scripts, font loading, and reserved layout space.

JavaScript rendering review

We compare raw HTML with the rendered DOM to find content, links, or metadata that depend on client-side scripts and recommend server-side rendering or prerendering.

Structured data implementation

JSON-LD markup for the schema types relevant to your pages, with errors and warnings cleared in the Rich Results Test and Search Console.

Redirect and canonical cleanup

Redirect chains and loops flattened, mixed protocol and trailing slash variants consolidated, and canonical tags corrected so each page has one preferred URL.

Developer-ready tickets

Each issue written up with affected URL patterns, the current and expected behavior, priority, and acceptance criteria, ready for Jira, Linear, or your tool of choice.

Process

How the work runs

Crawl and collect

We crawl the site, pull Search Console and analytics data, request server logs if available, and document the tech stack, CDN, and rendering setup.

Diagnose root causes

Thousands of flagged URLs usually trace back to a handful of template or configuration problems. We group symptoms by cause so developers fix patterns, not individual pages.

Prioritize by impact

Issues are scored by how many valuable pages they affect and how hard they are to fix. Indexing blockers come first, cosmetic warnings last or never.

Support implementation

We walk your developers through each ticket, answer questions during the build, and review changes on staging before they go live to catch regressions early.

Verify and monitor

After release we re-crawl, check Search Console for validation, and set up scheduled crawls and alerts so new problems are caught when they appear.

Questions

Technical SEO FAQ

What is crawl budget, and should we worry about it?

Crawl budget is the number of URLs a search engine is willing and able to crawl on your site in a given period. For small sites it is rarely a constraint. It becomes important on large sites, stores with faceted navigation, and sites that generate many parameter or duplicate URLs, where crawlers can spend most of their time on pages with no value.

Do Core Web Vitals affect rankings?

They are part of Google's page experience signals, but they are not a dominant ranking factor. Relevance and content quality matter more. We treat them as worth fixing because slow, unstable pages lose visitors and conversions regardless of rankings. We focus on field data from real users, since that is what Google uses, rather than chasing a perfect lab score.

Can you work with our developers?

Yes, that is how most technical SEO gets done. We write tickets in the format your team uses, join sprint planning or stand-ups where useful, and review work on staging. If you do not have developers, we can implement many fixes directly on platforms such as WordPress and Shopify, and tell you plainly which items need specialist help.

How much does technical SEO cost?

Pricing starts at $2,500 per project. Pricing is scoped per project through a custom proposal. It depends on the size of the site, the complexity of the stack, whether log file analysis is included, and whether you need a one-time engagement or ongoing monitoring. A migration has a different scope again. We look at the site first so the proposal reflects the real work involved.

Is JavaScript bad for SEO?

Not by itself. Google can render JavaScript, but rendering is deferred and resource-intensive, and other search engines and AI crawlers often do not execute scripts at all. Problems arise when key content, links, or metadata exist only after client-side rendering. Server-side rendering or static generation for important pages removes that risk. We test what crawlers actually receive.
